PRODUCT RISK ANALYST

My client is seeking a skilled Product Risk Analyst to join their risk management team team. This role involves ensuring that the risk-reward profile of the trading books is properly understood by senior management and that the physical exposures of the business are accurately valued. The successful candidate will provide crucial support to risk managers and senior risk managers globally, run daily risk reports, and assist in the development of new systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk-Reward Analysis:
- Ensure that the risk-reward profile of the trading books is clearly understood by senior management.
- Conduct thorough analysis to evaluate the physical exposures of the business.
Support for Risk Managers:
- Provide support to risk managers and senior risk managers on a global scale.
- Assist in addressing and resolving risk-related issues as they arise.
Daily Risk Reporting:
- Run daily risk reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Analyze and interpret risk data to provide insights and recommendations.
System Development:
- Assist in the development and enhancement of new risk management systems.
- Collaborate with IT and other departments to implement and test new systems.
Valuation and Monitoring:
- Accurately value the physical exposures of the business.
- Continuously monitor and review risk metrics to ensure compliance with internal and external guidelines.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Statistics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in risk analysis or a related role within the commodities trading or mining industry.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
- Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions and data analysis tools.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex concepts to senior management and other stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in reporting and data analysis.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
